Co.1 Part A Theory
You will learn the 'Rules of the Road' collision regulations applicable to safely
operating a powerboat and essential towards obtaining your NSW Maritime small boat general licence. We will also cover safety
procedures, onboard safety, equipment and it's use, understand how to use your compass and navigational chart, marine radio,
weather, ropes, anchors, stability, nautical commonsense and much more good information. An examination will be conducted
and certificate issued to successful students upon completion.

Co.2 Part B Practical (Optional)
Recommended for new boaties
Now the fun begins with our new 6.7 mtr. Southwind training vessel. Trip preparation,
launching, steering, docking, anchoring, rules of the road, safety equipment, each student will receive around 30 minutes
of individual and practical boating.

Co.3 Basic
Chart Navigation
An exciting introduction to Basic Coastal Navigation. The course objective is to demonstrate the practical use
of the navigation chart by introducing the student to the mercator chart format, plotting tools and plotting techniques which
include chart coordinates, distance and direction, measurements such as speed, time and distance calculations.

Co.4 Understanding GPS
Prerequisite Basic Chart
Navigation
This workshop is designed to provide an in-depth
review of basic GPS principals including hands on training with a hand held GPS receiver. You are encouraged to bring a Garmin 12, 45 or 48 if you have access to one.

Co.5 (MROCP) VHF Radio
Equipment
The Australian Communications Authority (ACA) endorsed and cerificated program
is a must for those operating VHF marine radio equipment. Students will be posted a learners guide for review prior to course
start. Examination will be conducted on behalf of ACA at the conclusion of each course.

Co.6 E.P.I.R.B Operations
This non certificated short workshop will get you started into confidently operating
your 27 MHz. marine radio for both safety and pleasure.
You will also be introduced to the value of Emergency Position Indicating Radio
Beacons (E.P.I.R.B's) when you are working your boat offshore.

Co.7 Senior First Aid
Certificate
This valuable nationally approved course provides basic first aid information
and how to respond to emergencies. Also provides the student with recommended first response to CPR. Topics also include cuts
and burns, bandaging and splinting, poisoning, bites and stings, seizures and strokes, hypothermia, heat exhaustion and heat
stroke. Incorporates video, lecture knowledge and skills test.
Satisfies NSW Maritime Authority Safety requirements for all maritime certificates
of competency.

Your Outboard Engine
Won't start! Why not? An introduction to the operation, maintenance, basic trouble
shooting, identifying real and potential problems. Question and answer session will provide hints to participants for keeping
their outboard engines operating efficiently.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF ENROLMENT FOR MAST SEMINARS
STUDENT AGREEMENT
Each student will consider themselves accepted/enrolled within a seminar/workshop once they have completed
an application form, paid the current advertised fee for that program, received notification of acceptance from MAST NSW and
aggree to other reasonable terms and conditions which may apply from time to time.
Good behaviour is paramount for the safety and well being of all participants, negligent or practices deemed
unsafe by the course instructor will immediately cancel any contractual commitments either written ,verbal or implied.
It is futher understood that whilst MAST NSW will provide as safe a training environment as is practicable,
the student agrees to indemnify MAST NSW for any non-insurable claims which may be made against it for damage or loss caused
by the student through wilful or negligent behaviour.

PAYMENTS AND BOOKINGS:
Payment may be made in full at the time of your booking. Your enrolment will not become confirmed by MAST NSW
until payment has been made. You can pay by credit card online at www.powerboating.com.au or by phone.
REFUND POLICY:
MAST NSW Will refund the total amount paid by a student upon written notification received by us at least 7
days prior to course commencement. An administration fee of 10% may be deducted from the amount paid at the discretion of
MAST NSW for any cancellation made by the student with less than 7 days notification. Students who fail to attend a
prepaid course without any notication may forfeit the entire amount prepaid. With prior notice and agreement with MAST NSW,
a student may transfer from one prepaid course to another without any financial loss.
CANCELLATION OF PROGRAM:
Any course which must become cancelled due to weather conditions or other reasons beyond the control of MAST
NSW, students will be entitled to a full refund of monies paid or may transfer onto another MAST NSW course. Where and if
possible, MAST NSW will attempt to contact the student and advise of this situation in advance.
MEDICAL:
The student agrees to notify MAST NSW of any medical disability or condition which may adversely affect the
individuals ability to safely undertake a particular planned training activity.
DISCLAIMER:
MAST NSW, it's employees or agents shall not be held liable for death, personal injury or loss or damage to
property arising from the students participation within a planned training activity conducted by MAST NSW.
